Case Study
Fanoos Telecom – Ensuring Network Continuity in High-Risk Zones with Real-Time Infrastructure Support
Fanoos Telecom, a licensed telecommunications operator in Iraq, provides voice and data services using CDMA and WiMAX technologies across 7 governorates, including the Kurdistan region. In operating within high-conflict zones like Syria, Fanoos faced significant challenges in maintaining uptime and managing the health of their network infrastructure. We partnered with Fanoos Telecom to provide resilient, real-time infrastructure support, including site restoration, performance monitoring, and system optimization, ensuring continued service delivery despite operating in a volatile environment.
The Vision
Maintaining Reliable Telecom Services in Conflict-Affected Regions The goal was to: Minimize infrastructure downtime in war-affected regions. Provide continuous support for network restoration and site recovery. Enhance system monitoring and performance optimization. Strengthen security and alert systems for proactive issue management.
Scenario
Overcoming Uptime Challenges in a War Zone Due to the location of their telecom infrastructure in Syria’s conflict zones
Frequent network outages and hardware disruptions. Limited accessibility for on-site technical teams. Resource exhaustion on ASN (Access Service Node) systems leading to performance degradation. Security risks due to unauthorized access and insufficient alert systems.

What we did
Delivering Infrastructure Stability through Remote Diagnostics and Optimization

Site Restoration Support : Provided real-time response and resolution to site downtime and recovery requests, ensuring rapid service restoration.
Network Health Monitoring : Enabled continuous health checks for the production environment, monitoring critical performance indicators.
Real-Time Support Access : Provided online and on-call technical support to ensure immediate response to incidents and performance bottlenecks.
ASN Optimization Solutions : Granted EMS server access to ASN_GW CLI.Automated erasure of temporary files when disk usage exceeds 80%. Created per-CPU process graphs for real-time insights. Implemented automatic CPU process reset when usage exceeds 60%, especially for high-load components like ACCUT, Authentication, Aggregate, and Gzip. Categorized alerts by capturing ASN logs for detailed incident analysis.
Alert and Security Systems : Introduced email alerts when CPU load exceeded 60%. Improved EMS security access to control system entry points.
