Repustar, a forward-thinking benefit corporation, is working towards addressing the global misinformation crisis through innovative technology solutions. We partnered with Repustar to design and develop tools that promote credibility, fact-checking, and transparency in today’s information ecosystem. Our work focused on building core products such as FactSparrow, GigaFact, and Respustar, using modern technologies like React, Redux, and Next.js to create scalable, user-friendly solutions.

Scenario
Addressing Misinformation with AI-Driven Fact-Checking Solutions
The flow of information today is chaotic and fragmented, with misinformation spreading rapidly across platforms. As a result, trust in the system has plummeted, and misinformation is often left unchecked. Repustar aimed to create two key solutions to combat these challenges. FactSparrow: An AI-powered bot and platform to unearth and provide verifiable facts in response to unsubstantiated claims.GigaFact: A project focused on scaling up fact-checking efforts to ensure timely, accurate information is available to combat misinformation. Repustar needed robust web applications that could scale efficiently, offer interactive features, and provide a seamless user experience.
What we did
Designing and Developing Solutions for Fact-Driven Transparency
FactSparrow – AI Bot for Fact-Checking : Developed using ReactJS, Redux, and Next.js, FactSparrow is an AI-powered bot designed to respond to misinformation by providing verified facts. The platform is designed to quickly pull up relevant, credible information from trusted sources in real time, helping users make informed decisions and debunk false claims.
GigaFact – Scalable Fact-Checking Platform : For the GigaFact project, we created a platform to streamline the fact-checking process. By leveraging ReactJS and Next.js, we built a scalable, highly responsive web application that enables users to submit claims for verification and receive quick, accurate responses backed by data and AI-driven analysis.
UI/UX Design for Seamless Interaction : We focused on building intuitive, easy-to-navigate interfaces using ReactJS and other modern UI elements. This was critical to ensuring that users could access factual information quickly and easily, which is vital when combating misinformation.
Integration of Redux for State Management : To efficiently handle the state of complex data within the applications, we implemented Redux to manage global state. This ensured smooth interactions, real-time updates, and seamless transitions between different components of the platform.
End-to-End Development : Our development approach involved creating user-centric applications that not only provide accurate information but also enhance the user experience. This was achieved by utilizing Next.js for server-side rendering and faster page loads, ensuring the platform’s performance and scalability.
