Overcoming Challenges in Data Migration and System Integration

Data Migration: Legacy data from centralized systems such as IBM Mainframe, XLS files on shared drives, and SQL Server databases needed to be migrated to the Yardi Voyager platform with minimal disruption to daily operations. Custom Reports: There was a need for custom reports tailored for top management, which required integrating data from various sources and ensuring compatibility with the Yardi Voyager system. Legacy System Retirement: As part of the digital transformation, legacy applications needed to be phased out to reduce the costs associated with maintaining outdated systems.Test Strategy and Execution: The migration and implementation required rigorous testing to ensure data accuracy and system functionality.

Our team worked closely with Shorenstein to migrate legacy data to the new Yardi Voyager platform while ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations. We also focused on improving reporting capabilities and reducing reliance on legacy systems.We facilitated the migration of data from multiple legacy systems, including: IBM Mainframe: Transferred critical real estate data stored on legacy mainframe systems. XLS Files on Shared Drive: Moved important spreadsheets containing real estate management data to the Yardi Voyager platform. SQL Server: Migrated existing databases to the new platform to ensure consistency and integrity of real estate investment data.

We developed and implemented new reports and modified existing ones to provide valuable insights into Shorenstein's daily activities. These reports were customized for: Day-to-day Operations: Reports supporting operational needs, such as property performance, financial analysis, and transaction tracking. Top Management: Executive-level reports focused on key performance metrics (KPIs) and real-time financial data to aid in decision-making. To reduce the maintenance cost of legacy systems, we worked with Shorenstein to retire outdated applications. This not only minimized the operational costs but also ensured that all resources were focused on maintaining the new Yardi Voyager platform.
